The 1st district is recommended for those people, who like the quiet but small town feeling. The noise of the downtown is far, but still close. The public transportation is excellent., bus , metro, tram. Most of the apartments are  of civilian type, except from some newly built ones. The district is mainly preferred by the middle aged  who like to to be close to the downtown, but live in a calm area halfway from the inner city cafes an the Greenbelt area of the Buda hills.

2. Naphegy:  A  greenbelt area, mainly consists of streets with small blocks of flats, villas close to  the river, great access to the motorways and to the Southern railway station.

3. Gellérthegy  Here you can find old spacious villas, with marvelous panoramic views , very quiet green park

Main attractions:

1. CASTLE HILL: National Gallery, the biggest Hungarian collection of visual arts

2. MATTHIAS CHURCH, is the sanctuary of the Hungarian nation.You can find the tomb of  King Bela III.  and the statue of Mary that was sent by the Pope in 2000.

3.  WAR HISTORY MUSEUM, entrance is free on the last Sunday of each month.

4. FISHERMAN's BASTION, it's on the castle hill. Its one of the most visited places, where you can enjoy beautiful view all over Budapest. The seven stones towers symbolize the Seven conquering Hungarian leaders. This part of the castle was protected by the fishermen guilds. That's how the name is originated.

5. The TUNNEL, the FUNICULAR runs next to it up to the castle hill, where the travelers enjoy beautiful views.
